What does it run on?
macOS 14 or later on Apple Silicon. A Windows version is planned.
Where does my audio go?
Nowhere. Recognition happens on your Mac, and audio is not even stored by default.
How much can I use for free?
All Pro features are unlocked for your first 14 days. After that you keep 10,000 characters per week for free — enough to stay free if you only dictate occasionally. For daily professional use, Pro is ¥980/month.
Does it work for medical terminology?
Yes — register terms like クレンメ→Klemme in the dictionary. On-device processing also means nothing you say leaves the room.
Does it work offline?
Yes. After the initial model download, dictation works in airplane mode.
Can it adapt to my voice?
Hotaru Voice accumulates your history as training data, and you can swap in your own fine-tuned (GGML) model.
